Bricklaying:
Definition of bricklaying work:
Bricklaying is the use of individual bricks or blocks to erect a structure such as a building.
A brick is a rectangular masonry unit used for construction of walls or paved areas. Bricks are usually small enough to be picked up with one hand.
Blocks are usually made of concrete or clay and are usually larger than bricks. They are used to construct walls. Often they have hollow centres for the purpose of reducing their weight.
Requirements:
A licence is required to do any residential building work in NSW, including bricklaying, that has a value exceeding $5000 (inc GST) for both the labour and the materials components of the work combined.
