Definition of Structural Landscaping:
Structural landscaping is the construction of landscape features which cannot be lived in.
These structures include the following:
- retaining walls provided they are not part of part of a house
- fencing, driveways, paths and other paved areas
- pergolas and decks provided they are not intended for use as dwellings.
- ornamental ponds, water features and the like.
Requirements:
A licence is required to do any residential building work in NSW, including structural landscaping, that has a value exceeding $5000 (inc GST) in both labour and materials combined.
